Our Grade 9 learners embarked on an educational tour of the Republic of South Africa from April 13 to April 21, 2025. This enriching journey allowed students to expand their understanding of South Africa’s political and economic framework through first-hand experiences.
Learners visited significant historical and political landmarks throughout the tour, including the Union Buildings and the Apartheid Museum. These visits provided deep insights into South Africa’s political transformation, particularly its journey from apartheid to a democratic society. The students were able to draw connections between past events and present-day governance structures.
In addition to political education, the tour featured visits to key economic hubs and development centers. These experiences introduced students to South Africa’s industrial and commercial infrastructure, allowing them to observe how a nation manages its economy and promotes development. Visits to amusement parks and cultural sites rounded off the trip, giving students a sense of South Africa’s vibrant tourism sector. Overall, the tour was a meaningful extension of the classroom, leaving lasting educational and cultural impressions.
