Testing a Leaf for Starch

Grade 10 students had a fantastic time in Biology class investigating the presence of starch in a leaf.

They learned how to test for starch using iodine solution, which turns blue-black in the presence of starch. This hands-on experiment helped them understand the process of photosynthesis and the role of chlorophyll in plants.
